You can remove a projects source control bindings by opening the project then selecting the Save As option from the application menu. The project will then be saved to a new folder without being bound to your selected source control provider.

The original version of the project will still exist in source control (and on your machine). You can then remove your project from your source control provider manually (this will depend on the provider that you are using).
